When our body is called upon to produce energy, it relies on compounds such as adenosine triphosphate(ATP) and creatine phosphate. These molecules are used to provide our cells with the “fuel†they need to keep running, especially during times of strenuous exercise. The degree and speed at which we can generate these compounds is closely associated with our ability to “recover†and continue to perform during future exercise. Like ATP, creatine provides our cells with another source of metabolic energy. Creatine provides energy for cells during short bursts of extremely strenuous exercise. Supplementation with creatine has been shown to replenish what has been lost during exercise and to positively affect performance. Studies have shown that this can translate into enhanced performance. Ribose is quickly absorbed by the body and has no known toxicity. Pyruvate is found naturally in the diet and supplies energy to the cellular mitochondria. In addition to its antioxidant properties, it also has been studied for its ability to promote cardiac function, performance and efficiency. Maca, also known as Peruvian Ginseng, has been used for years in South America and is currently gaining attention in the United States. It is used as a general tonic and has significant energy, stamina and endurance enhancing properties. PEP-Pyruvate Energize Plus powder may be a useful dietary supplement for those who wish to enhance their energy potential and increase their stamina for today's energy demanding lifestyles.
